1st November - 28th February

9.30 - 16.30, closed for lunch from 13.00 - 13.30

1st March - 31st October

9.30 - 19.30, closed for lunch from 13.00 - 13.30


Closed Christmas Day 25th December

The cable car runs continuously back and forth during the scheduled hours. It does not run just once. The last journey to or from the island before lunch is at 12.45 until service resumes at 13.30. 

Cable Car Fares

Adult:                  €10.00 return

Child under 16     €5.00 return

Child under 3       Free of charge

1. There is no pre-booking system in operation, the cable car operates on a first-come first-served basis.

2. As space on the cable car is limited, visitors are advised to arrive as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Due to exceptional demand, the queues can be quite long in the late morning to get onto the island and from mid to late afternoon coming back. During busy periods, once a certain number of visitors is on the island, the cable car operator may have to suspend further access to the island, in order to ensure all visitors can be taken off the island during working hours.

3. Island residents have priority boarding for the cable car.

4. As space is limited on the cable car, the transportation of bicycles is strictly at the discretion of the cable car operator.
